Description

At half-time, the heavens opened and the rain came teeming down - so much so that it was safer to play on the hard standing in front of the grandstand. Venturing out on to the sodden grass in ghillie brogue shoes would have been an accident waiting to happen. Trying to counter-march would have been easier on a skating rink!!

More from my archives - Saturday 3rd July 2004 - the Band was to play at the Shinty final at the Bught Park, Inverness - first to play the teams on at the start, and then to play during the half-time interval. Thereafter, the Band was to visit the nearby Highland Hospice and play for the residents and staff. In the space of an hour, we saw all four seasons!!
