Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Just west of Stanchfield Minnesota are two oak savanna ecosystems that formed from the northernmost shores of glacial lake Anoka. These ecosystems, plus the south shore Lake Mille Lacs oak savannas (see Father Hennepin & Mille Lacs Kathio State Parks oak savannas) are the northernmost oak savannas in eastern Minnesota. North of these two areas are forest ecosystems with a few scattered pockets of mixed hardwoods and prairie grasses.
