Summary

[edit]
Description
English: North Bovey: overlooking Headland Warren Farm Helen Harris, in ‘The Industrial Archaeology of Dartmoor’, Peninsula Press, 1992, refers to old leats on the south side of Hookney Tor feeding into gullies at Headland from Grim’s Lake. The old tinners’ workings – known as tin streamings – can be seen either side of the farm and date from the medieval period, with the waste thrown up from the banks of the streams or leats much in evidence
