Description
Nederlands: De Noordkaap (Noorwegen) is een kaap die uitsteekt in de Noordelijke IJszee aan de noordkant van het Noorse eiland Magerøya. De kaap ligt in de naar Nordkapp genoemde gemeente op 71° 10′ 21″ noorderbreedte, 514 kilometer ten noorden van de poolcirkel en ongeveer 2100 kilometer ten zuiden van de Noordpool. Sinds 1999 is de Noordkaap het noordelijkste punt in Europa dat over de weg bereikbaar is vanaf het vasteland en is het met zijn oriëntatiepunt, de wereldbol, een belangrijke toeristische bestemming.
English: The North Cape (Norwayà is a cape jutting out into the Arctic Ocean on the northern side of the Norwegian island of Magerøya. It is located in the municipality named after it, Nordkapp, at 71° 10′ 21″ north latitude, 514 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle and around 2100 kilometres south of the North Pole. Since 1999, the North Cape has been the northernmost point in Europe that can be reached by road from the mainland and, with its landmark, the globe, is a major tourist destination.
