Summary
[edit]DescriptionNon armed mon50 anti-personnel clustermine.jpg |
This is an non-armed MON-50 anti-personnel land mine manufactured in the former Soviet Union. This particular mine was photographed at an exhibition in Gothenburg (Battlecamp Göteborg 2006) where SWEDEC (the Swedish military's EOD and Demining Centre) were showing different types of mines. All the mines on display were of course inert (blinds). Because the shape of the MON-50 is very similar to the M18A1 Claymore Antipersonnel Mine manufactured by the US, a lot of people would describe the MON-50 as having a "claymore shape".
