Description
Nederlands: De eerste 2 nieuwe CH-47F Chinook-transporthelikopters zijn op de Amerikaanse legerbasis Fort Hood in gebruik genomen. De helikopters worden gebruikt voor opleiding en training. Het Defensie Helikopter Commando verwacht de eerste toestellen begin volgend jaar in Nederland.

De nieuwe Chinooks arriveren op Fort Hood.Toon opties Op termijn moet de Koninklijke Luchtmacht over een vloot beschikken van 20 toestellen in de nieuwste, identieke uitvoering. Daarvan worden er 15 bij 298 Squadron in Gilze-Rijen gestationeerd en 5 bij 302 Squadron op Fort Hood.Br>
Vanaf 1995 nam de luchtmacht 13 Chinooks in de D(elta)-uitvoering in gebruik. Daarvan gingen er 2 verloren in 2005 tijdens de ISAF-missie In Afghanistan. Tussen 2008 en 2012 werd de vloot uitgebreid met 6 nieuwe helikopters in de F(oxtrot)-uitvoering.
