Der einäugige Cyklop hat sich in die Seenymphe Galatea verliebt, die jedoch kein Interesse an ihm zeigt. Daher spielt er auf einem Berg inmitten einer klassischen Landschaft seine traurigen Flötenmelodien, denen andere Nymphen und Satyre andächtig lauschen.
