Description The U.S. Navy battleship New Jersey (BB-62) is seen in early 1948 being moved from the New York Navy Yard to the New York Group, Atlantic Reserve Fleet based at Bayonne, New Jersey. The ship was inactivated at New York Navy Yard, beginning on 18 October 1947 and was formally decommissioned at Bayonne on 30 June 1948.
