Description
Italiano: Neurdein frères, Paris - Il re Umberto I di Savoia come principe ereditario, ca. 1864/70.
English: Neurdein frères, Paris - King Umberto I of Italy as crown prince, ca. 1864/70.
Deutsch: König Humbert von Italien; u.a. erster Regimentschef des preußischen Husaren-Regiment „König Humbert von Italien“ (1. Kurhessisches) Nr. 13.; von 1875 bis 1902 lag das Regiment in Frankfurt-Bockenheim. Seine Ernennung durch Kaiser Wilhelm II. galt als ersten öffentlichen Akt der Courtoisie (Freundschaftsbeweis) gegenüber König Humbert. Der König besichtigte 1896 an einem halben Tag den größten Teil des in Frankfurt-Bockenheim garnisonirenden in Parade aufgestellten Regiments unter großem Anteil der Bockenheimer Bevölkerung. Ein Ölgemälde von Adolf Wald will an diesen Tag erinnern.
