Nereid Monument in the British Museum

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Nereid Monument in the British Museum This monument was built in about 410 BC at Xanthos near the Lycian coast of Turkey. Sir Charles Fellows collected the remains of the tomb from Turkey in 1842, and they were reconstructed in the British Museum - though it is not certain that the statues are in the correct positions. The tomb is in the style of a Greek temple, but was built for a prince of Persian origin.
