Description |
English: Flint leaf-shaped arrowhead, lozenge-shaped in plan, profile and section. The arrowhead has been bifacially worked on all margins and beyond towards the medial area of the arrowhead. The point has broken off in antiquity, probably during use.
The flint is a mottled light to dark grey colour, and was probably knapped from a local beach pebble. The length to breadth ratio is about 3:2. Bond (2004) identifies the type of arrowhead as Type 1Ad on page 123, Fig.5.106 (after Green 1980), and illustrates a similar example on page 133, Fig.5.119, No.F27, which are both dated to the earlier Neolithic. |
