Description |
English: Flint leaf-shaped arrowhead, lozenge-shaped in plan, profile and section. The arrowhead has been bifacially worked on all margins, but has been more extensively worked, towards the medial ridge, on the right margin of the dorsal face, and the left margin of the ventral face, to form the point. The end of the point has been broken off, probably during use.
The flint is a dark grey colour, and may have been imported from Devon, rather than knapped from a local beach pebble. The length to breadth ratio is 2:1. Bond (2004) identifies the type of arrowhead as Type 4Cv on page 124, Fig.5.107, and illustrates a similar example on page 133, Fig.5.119, No.F33, which are dated to the earlier Neolithic. |
