English: Pensacola, Fla. (Aug. 29, 2005) - An Exxon station in Pensacola, Florida remains open despite loosing its roof during the forceful winds Hurricane Katrina brought into the area. Katrina, a Category 4 hurricane, came ashore at 7:10 a.m. EST near the Louisiana bayou town of Buras. At least a half-million people were without power from Louisiana to Florida's panhandle, including 370,000 in southeastern Louisiana and 116,400 in Alabama, mostly in the Mobile area.
