Description

Thank you to all the volunteers who made site improvements at the Rock Creek area, Oct. 4, 2014, in honor of National Public Lands Day. The volunteering, from Back Country Horsemen and the BLM Border Field Office, required some tough manual labor: 1)Installation of four robust steel tube equestrian highline posts using a Bobcat excavator, 110, 50-pound bags of quick concrete, and pre-welded and painted posts courtesy Odessa High School’s Vocational Agriculture group. 2)Adding gravel and entrance sign to the recreation parking area. 3)Maintenance of flexible fiberglass trail markers and improving the non-motorized trail segment from the historic Escure Ranch to Wall Lake. And after all the work, BLM provided lunch for all.
