Description
Deutsch: Bis ins 18. Jahrhundert hatte sich die Dynastie Nassau die beiden 1255 entstandenen Linien bewahrt, und diese waren wieder in zahlreiche Zweige aufgeteilt. Durch das Aussterben einiger Zweige war von der ottonischen Linie 1743 allerdings nur noch das Haus Nassau-Diez übriggeblieben, das in den Niederlanden als Statthalter fungierte. 1783 entschloss man sich daher zu einem erneuerten Erbverein.
