Summary
[edit]DescriptionNacelle enroute to Scout Moor Wind Farm - geograph.org.uk - 974254.jpg |
English: Nacelle enroute to Scout Moor Wind Farm. Over eight miles of single track road had to be built to gain access to all the turbine bases during the construction of the Scout Moor wind farm.
On this section a bridge had to be built to cross a deep gully and stream. The low loader in the picture is seen here with the nacelle for turbine tower No 7 as it makes it's way up and over the moors. The nacelle, that revolves on top of each turbine tower, contains the generator, gearbox and braking systems with the blade hub attached to the front. 739877 728835 696963 696211 728735 824546 Turbine details: Tower Height: 60m Blade Length: 40m Total Max Height: 100m Manufacturer: Nordex Model: N80 http://www.nordex-online.com/en/products-services/wind-turbines/n80-25-mw.html |
