Description
Deutsch: U-Bahnhof Newkirk Avenue an der BMT Brighton Line. Um die Baukosten zu senken, wurden einige BRT-Bahnhöfe des Doppelsystems halboffen angelegt. So verschwanden hier beispielsweise Local-Gleise und Mittelbahnsteige unter der Straße. Die Express-Gleise mussten jedoch nicht abgedeckt werden, weil sie genau entlang der ursprünglichen Trasse verliefen.
English: Newkirk Avenue station on the BMT Brighton Line. The BRT put some Dual System stations into an open cut instead of digging a tunnel for lowering construction costs. Here, two island platforms and the outer tracks are below the streets above. The express tracks were laid below the original line and needed not to be covered.
