English: Lt. Christopher Spring (right), a Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) Naval Science Instructor (NSI) at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona, Fla., goes over Mariner Skills Simulator (MSS) computer software with NSI officers at a MSS Summit hosted by Naval Service Training Command (NSTC) on Naval Station Great Lakes, Aug. 6. MSS is a tool that enables NROTC midshipman an opportunity to study and learn basic navigation and virtually navigate U.S. Navy ships in and out of harbors and ports in real time. NSTC, which oversees the NROTC program, is working to get the MSS software installed at more than 150 colleges and universities either host NROTC units or have cross-town enrollment agreements with a host university.
