The 3rd USA Science and Engineering Festival, held in Washington, DC, on April 25-27, 2014, attracted an estimated 320,000 attendees. Visitors to NSF’s exhibits and stage shows eagerly engaged in hands-on activities and were amazed by the breadth of research and education projects supported by the agency. Twin Cities Public Television and its program, SciGirls, used the wind instrument to demonstrate that “Music is the Sound of Physics.” Girls and boys created their own colorful pan flutes using scientific principles. The complete list of NSF’s exhibits and stage shows is available at www.nsf.gov/news/news_summ.jsp?cntn_id=131181 . Credit: Jessica Arriens, National Science Foundation |
