The 3rd USA Science and Engineering Festival, held in Washington, DC, on April 25-27, 2014, attracted an estimated 320,000 attendees. Visitors to NSF’s exhibits and stage shows eagerly engaged in hands-on activities and were amazed by the breadth of research and education projects supported by the agency. The Mobile Area Education Foundation, of Mobile, Ala., challenged visitors to use engineering to solve real-world problems. So, who wants to design a device to catch blood clots in a human circulatory system model? Check out this video of the exhibit at www.nsf.gov/news/mmg/mmg_disp.jsp?med_id=76250 .
