The 3rd USA Science and Engineering Festival, held in Washington, DC, on April 25-27, 2014, attracted an estimated 320,000 attendees. Visitors to NSF’s exhibits and stage shows eagerly engaged in hands-on activities and were amazed by the breadth of research and education projects supported by the agency. Researchers are using submersible vessels to learn about the ocean floor. This visitor to the Museum of Science, Boston’s exhibit, “Dive in to Engineering,” tested whether various materials would float or sink. The complete list of NSF’s exhibits and stage shows is available at www.nsf.gov/news/news_summ.jsp?cntn_id=131181 . Credit: Ellen Weir, National Science Foundation |
