On NPLD 2012, the Moab Friends for Wheelin’ volunteered with the Bureau of Land Management to install a new 600-foot perimeter fence around the Black Ridge parking lot, a popular area with rock-crawler enthusiasts. The group also built and installed an information kiosk and signage. In total, 21 volunteers contributed 88 hours of labor toward this project. During the project, the group received a special visit from Juan Palma, The Moab Friends for Wheelin’ group is a tremendous asset to the Moab Field Office in managing the public lands. Every year, this group of dedicated volunteers provides hundreds of hours of labor on designated four-wheel-drive trails that surround the picturesque town of Moab, Utah. As part of their on-going efforts, this group has volunteered with the BLM on National Public Lands Day since 2006. Moab Field Office staff appreciate this group and their efforts to further management of the public lands.
