Description
English: IG II2 3804: Statue base erected by Gaius and Maurus for their unnamed teacher on behalf of their symphoitetai (fellow visitors to the Asklepieion), in the second century AD, with permission of the Areopagos Council, when the temple attendant (zakoros) of the Asklepieion was Statius of Cholleidai, who was also fire-bearer (pyrphoros) from the Acropolis. Displayed by the Athenian Ephoreia on the south slope of the Acropolis, near the Asklepieion (inv. no. NK 6)
