Description NIOSH researcher Chelsea Woodward installs a control box for the NIOSH prototype hatch and door monitor system in the hold of the F/V Gladiator. This system is designed to monitor the condition of watertight doors on vessels to alert the crew to potential cross compartment flooding hazards which the US Coast Guard has identified as a key contributing factor to many recent vessel disasters.
