Description
Deutsch: Im Basaltsteinbruch von Weitendorf wird die bis zu 30 m dicke Schicht aus vulkanischem Gestein abgebaut. Unter dieser Schicht wurde eine Schicht dunkelgrauen Tonmergels gefunden. Darin befinden sich versteinerte Meersorganismen. Durch einen Zahnfund in dieser Schicht konnte unter Anderem der Nachweis für das Vorkommen eines Riesenzahnhais (Carcharocles magalodon) erbracht werden.
