English: Maj. Gen. Gregory A. Lusk, the adjutant general of North Carolina, presents the North Carolina National Guard, Proud Partner Award to Rodney Monroe, Chief of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department during a ceremony held at the Maj. Gen. Gerald A. Rudisill Army National Guard Armory here, April 15. As chief, Monroe has worked to prevent and tackle crime by putting more officers on the street, policing at the neighborhood level, greater community collaboration and building strong partnerships with federal and local law enforcement agencies. This award was given to show appreciation for the professional relationship that is maintained with the police department and their devoted and loyal support they gave to the soldiers and irmen of the North Carolina National Guard during the 2012 Democratic National Convention.
