NARC-EA3348 : Buckle : Medieval to Post-Medieval
Description
English: An incomplete copper alloy Buckle of late Medieval to early Post-Medieval date (AD 1450-1550). The object is a double loop annular brooch with a frame in the form of a five petalled flower. Each petal is defined by a lateral incised line along the outer edge which frames multiple incised transverse lines. The buckle has a narrowed strap bar and retains the lower portion of an iron wire pin on the strap bar.

Length: 27.86mm, Width: 27.66mm, Thickness: 2.27mm, Weight: 5.0g.

The metal is a dark green in colour with light green and brown areas and a predominantly smooth patina.
