English:

A Late Roman copper alloy long and exuberantly decorated (Group) nail cleaner, dating to AD 250-410. The object consists of an oval sectioned bar, terminating in an incomplete circular loop at one end. At the opposing end the bar narrows in profile into a bifurcated terminal, with the gap between the points being continuous with a long V-shaped groove. The oval sectioned portion of the bar is decorated with four groups of transverse collars, varying between 4 and 6 in number. Engraved oblique lines converging towards the attachment loop flank the groove. The nail cleaner is decorated on one face only.

Length 62.3mm; Width 4.9mm; Thickness 2.6mm; Weight 2.89g.
