English: Aerial view of the U.S. Navy Naval Auxiliary Airfield (NAAF) Crows Landing, California (USA), on 5 August 1947. In late 1942, the U.S. Navy chose a site in the San Joaquin Valley. NAAF Crows Landing was an auxiliary airfield to NAS Alameda, some 100 km away. It was decommissioned on 6 July 1946 and turned over to the NASA in 1993. |
