Summary
[edit]DescriptionN701TZ@HAJ,27.07.2007-481ev - Flickr - Aero Icarus.jpg | Construction number 46583/ 292, this magnificent trijet first flew on July 2, 1979. In March 1980 the three-holer was delivered to Swissair as HB-IHL. It served the Swiss nazional airline 12 years (and was then replaced by an MD-11). From 1992 until 2006 the DC-10-30 flew for Northwest Airlines, for two years it bore the hybrid colour scheme pictured above, flying for ATA, mainly for military charters. Luckily, its days aloft continue as World Airways picked it up after TZ's demise in April 2008. It continues roaring in the skies as N139WA. |
