Description
English: 'Investing in Pacific Trade' special c/scheme, right side. This aircraft had quite a history. Built as a freighter, it was delivered new to Flying Tiger Line in Jul-80 as N808FT. Flying Tiger was taken over by FedEx in Aug-89 and it was re-registered N623FE in Jan-90. In Jul-93 it was leased to Singapore Airlines as 9V-SQV and then sub-leased to Korean Airlines Cargo in Sep-94 as HL7401. Sold to Northwest Airlines in Nov-96 it's lease to Korean continued until Aug-97 when it was returned to Northwest as N9401 and was stored at Marana (MZJ), AZ, USA. In Dec-97 it was leased to Southern Air Transport (reg N744SJ was allocated but not used). Returned to Northwest in Oct-98 it was sold to a leasing company and returned to storage at Marana. It was leased to Northwest Cargo in May-99 and was re-registered N643NW two months later. The aircraft continued in service with Northwest until after the merger with Delta Airlines and was finally retired in Dec-09 after almost 30 years service. It's currently (Feb-13) stored at Walnut Ridge (ARG), AR, USA, where it will eventually be broken up.
