Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Museumkelder Derlon (Hotel Derlon Museum Basement) in Maastricht, the Netherlands. The museum features the 1983 archaeological excavations of an ancient Roman shrine from the 2nd century AD. The shrine stood along the main road from Tongres via Maastricht to Cologne, close to the bridge over the river Meuse. It consisted of an enclosed courtyard with a Jupiter column and a number of smaller monuments. On display here is a stone fragment of the gate of the sanctuary.
