Description

O Museu Nacional Honestino Guimarães é um museu brasileiro criado e administrado pelo governo de Brasília. A instituição foi inaugurada com uma exposição sobre a obra de Niemeyer: "Niemeyer & Niemeyer e Brasília – Património da Humanidade". O museu e a biblioteca formam o Complexo Cultural da República João Herculino.

Seu nome foi dado em memória de Honestino Guimarães. O museu, que tem a forma de cúpula, e a Biblioteca Nacional Leonel de Moura Brizola foram concebidos pelo arquiteto brasileiro Oscar Niemeyer e foram inaugurados no dia 15 de dezembro de 2006, no dia em que o arquitecto celebrou os seus 99 anos de idade.
