, formerly identified as Marie-Madeleine de Parabère (1693-1755), mistress of Philippe, Duke of Orléans (1674-1723).
Français : "Blin de Fontenay s'appuie sur la tradition de la peinture flamande mais ôte toute dimension symbolique aux fleurs pour les réduire à leur valeur décorative. Longtemps considéré comme le portrait de Marie-Madeleine de la Vieuville, comtesse de Parabère (1693-1773), maîtresse du Régent en 1716, cette identification est aujourd'hui contestée. Peintre de fleurs, il est possible que Blin de Fontenay ait travaillé en collaboration avec un portraitiste comme c'est le cas pour l'œuvre similaire conservée au Honolulu Museum of Art. Une copie est commandée en 1842 par Louis-Philippe au peintre Elzidor Naigeon (aujourd'hui conservée au château de Versailles)."
