English: Members of the Philippine Army, Air Force and Navy National Capital Region Disaster Response Teams and soldiers from the Hawaii National Guard Chemical Biological Nuclear Enhanced Response Force Package Search and Extraction Team conduct rescue training at Camp Aguinaldo, Philippines, April 19. They are taking part in a combined-joint command post exercise focusing on combined-force planning and response to a disaster relief scenario, one part of the larger Exercise Balikatan 2012. BK12 takes place from April 16-27, on Luzon and Palawan, Republic of the Philippines. Combined Philippine and U.S. service members also conducted a series of humanitarian civic assistance projects and field training exercises. Balikatan is a Filipino word meaning “shoulder-to-shoulder” and characterizes the spirit of the exercise. |
