English: Lt. Gen. Charles Jacoby, the commanding general of Multi-National Corps-Iraq, congratulates Staff Sgt. Craig Jackson, of Huntington, Pa., after awarding the Purple Heart medal, Sept. 1, at Combat Outpost Cashe South, Iraq, located in the Ma'dain region outside eastern Baghdad. Jackson suffered injuries when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle May 3 while conducting a combat operation in eastern Baghdad. Jackson is a squad leader assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 5th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Multi-National Division-Baghdad. The three-star general pinned four cavalry Paratroopers with the medal during the ceremony. |
