English: Edith’s bedroom was decorated in a Louis XV style, reflecting the popularity of French interiors at the turn of the 20th century. How did George pick these patterns without a wife's input?
Edith may have enjoyed this style of furniture because it reminded her of her childhood in France with her sisters. Both Edith and George's bedrooms feature stiff, fairly heavy bedding in silk and cut velvet. Both bedrooms open to the west for natural lighting and a view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. |
