Title
Mount from Swinhope or Binbrook
Description
English: Copper alloy

Mount. Cast rectangular mount with integral off-centre rivet on reverse of 3.4mm diameter; the end of the rivet is burred, suggesting its attachment to a strap or other leather object of 6.5mm thickness. The display face bears a central roundel with a heraldic lion advancing right; a fleur de lis springing from the roundel occupies each corner of an eccentrically set rectilinear border; groups of three or four pellets run between the fleurs. Suggested date: Late Medieval to Post-Medieval, 1450-1550.

Length/Height: 13.6mm, Width: 14.8mm, Thickness (plate): 2.1mm, Weight: 2.5gms.
