Description
English: The historic Mount Zion Cemetery at 27th and Q St, composed of the old Methodist Burying Ground purchased in 1808 by the Dumbarton Street Methodist Episcopal Church for burial of whites, free blacks and slaves; the Female Union Band Society Graveyard for burial of free black women from 1842; and taken over by Mount Zion Methodist Church from 1879. [1]
