English: The Black Watch War Memorial, at the corner of Market Street and North Bank Street on the Mound in Edinburgh is a bronze statue of a kilted Black Watch soldier standing looking toward the Castle, on a square polished granite base, with the Black Watch crest "Am Freiceadan Dubh" above a frieze of fighting soldiers. It was designed by sculptor William Birnie Rhind, R.S.A.
It was unveiled on 27 June 1910. It is dedicated "To the Memory of Officers, Non- Commissioned Officers and Men of The Black Watch Who Fell In The South African War 1899 -1902"Nederlands: Het Black Watch War Memorial, op de hoek van Market Street en North Bank Street op the Mound in edinburgh, is een bronzen beeld van een Black Watch soldaat in kilt die naar het kasteel kijkt. Boven een fries met vechtende soldaten staat het Black Watch motto "Am Freiceadan Dubh". Het is ontworpen door beeldhouwer William Birnie Rhind, RSA. Het werd onthuld op 27 juni 1910.
