Summary
[edit]DescriptionMotorway bridge, Lancaster Canal - geograph.org.uk - 1540571.jpg |
English: Motorway bridge, Lancaster Canal This bridge (129A) carries what is now the A601(M), and was built in two stages.
The original bridge (in the background) was built as part of the Lancaster by-pass, which terminated at what is now Junction 35a (SD5071). When the M6 was extended northwards, Junction 35 round-about was built, which required the bridge in the foreground to be added. Half of the original bridge, carrying the original southbound carriageway, is now redundant. |
