Description

Este monumento está integrado numa plataforma ao qual se tem acesso através de uma escadaria de degraus baixos e largos. Constituído por uma parede elíptica, que no centro é intersectada por uma área circular, na face principal o conjunto é forrado a azulejos pintados a azul. No círculo central está pintado um grande cravo azul cujo caule vai até à base do monumento, como se rompesse da terra. Na parte inferior do círculo encontra-se um rectângulo com os nomes de muitos dos “Capitães de Abril”que participaram na Revolução. As paredes dos lados estão decoradas com a pauta musical e a letra da canção “ Grândola, Vila Morena”, enquanto que no friso inferior se encontra a sua letra completa. 

   A parede posterior, à qual se tem acesso através de duas rampas que ladeiam o monumento, encontra-se completamente coberta com a “ Declaração Universal dos Direitos do Homem”. No centro há um círculo revestido com azulejos em vários tons de amarelo, representando o Sol.
