Description

Un demi-blanc des ducs de Bretagne Jean IV ou Jean V, daté d’entre 1388 à 1420.

A/ +IOhAnNES BRITOn : D[VX] Écu triangulaire chargé de trois mouchetures d’hermines placé 2-1.

R/+SI[T : nOmE : DnI] : BenE Croix pattée cantonnée au 1er et 4e de deux mouchetures et aux 2e et 3e de deux couronnes.

Dimensions : 21,27 mm – 21,90 mm Poids : 1,5 g. Axe des coins : 10h Référence : J.300

Discussion : Cette monnaie imite une monnaie royale d’un demi-guénar de Charles VI émis de septembre 1388 à octobre 1420. (Dy.378) Remarquez que les mouchetures d’hermines ont une allure particulière pour les faire ressembler à une fleur de lys. Malheureusement, il y a une faiblesse de frappe à l’avers, la où aurait pu se trouver la lettre d’atelier. Comme il est impossible de savoir s’il y avait une lettre d’atelier, j’ai classé la monnaie dans le J.300 qui n’a pas d’atelier.

Elle a été trouvée dans la région de Lorient sans plus de précision car son découvreur ne se rappelle plus d’où elle vient précisément.
