Title
Modern: Possible military dagger pommel
Description
English: A hollow, gilded, eagle's head sword pommel with a rivet hole in the top of the head and a transverse hole in the beak. The head is carefully modelled with an oval aperture at the neck. This is probably from a military sword of c1800. There are many similar pommels on swords of this date on display in the Metropolitan Museum in New York City.
