Beschrijving : Modelboerderij Lactaria te Stevensbeek
Annotatie : In 1910 verkocht de gemeente Sambeek 455 hectare woeste grond aan J.H.B. Klijnen uit Maastricht. Die richtte het bedrijf Lactaria NV, een ontginningsboerderij, op. In een korte tijd werd de bijbehorende grond omgezet van onmetelijke heidevelden in bouw- en grasland. De ontginning en exploitatie was aanvankelijk in handen van de Nederlandse Heidemaatschappij. De nieuwe “nederzetting” Lactaria bestond uit een modelboerderij en drie dubbele arbeiderswoningen.
