English: Italy, South Tirol, Mittewald, Pfarrkirche zum Hl. Martin. The first evidence of a church in Mittewald date back to 1345 and was reconsacrated in 1473. The present church was built in 1831 under the direction of Jakob Prantl then curate of Pfitsch who incorporated the Late Gothic bell tower in the new church. The ceiling frescos representing the Adoration of the Sacrament by the four continents and the death of Saint Martin are by Josef Renzler dating from 1832. The altarpieces represents the death of Saint Martin, the adoration of the Magi and Saint Sebastian are by Josef Renzler.
