Description
English: Miriki, North Kivu, DRC: To enhance the protection of civilians, including the internally displaced persons, MONUSCO blue helmets from India established a Static Combat Detachment in the zone of Miriki on 8 January 2022. While patrolling, the peacekeepers interacted with village notables who confirmed armed groups’ activism in the area. MONUSCO troops’ presence has restored locals’ confidence and allayed their fears of attacks from militias. Photo MONUSCO/Force
Français : Miriki, Nord-Kivu, RDC : Afin de renforcer la protection des civils, y compris celle des personnes déplacées, les casques bleus indiens de la MONUSCO ont établi une base militaire temporaire dans la zone de Miriki le 8 janvier 2022. Au cours de leur patrouille, les casques bleus ont échangé avec des notables locaux qui ont confirmé l'activisme des groupes armés dans la région.
