Description

Carved stone water-pipe gargoyle, on Mill Hill Unitarian Chapel, City Square, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. Architects Bowman & Crowther of Manchester, opened 1848. All original architectural stone carving is by Robert Mawer. Note the date on the waterpipe: 1847 AX (1847 anno domini). Showing lion gargoyle.

Note: most of these exterior stone carvings are weather-worn.
