Summary
[edit]DescriptionMilestone, Omagh - geograph.org.uk - 376280.jpg |
English: Milestone, Omagh. Though this is not its original location it is thought that it came from somewhere on the Ballygawley to Omagh Road. The owner of the house managed to save it before was destroyed by workmen and has sited it outside his house on the Dublin Road. On the front face L.derry can be seen and it is believed that a shortened form of Ballygawley is carved on the sandstone. On the top is a "crow's foot" which is a mark left by Ordnance Survey. To the right is Omagh Golf Club. 376283
There is a milestone located on the Hospital Road which is part of the old coach road from Omagh to Dungannon, via Carrickmore - see 377566 |
