| Description |
Nederlands: Ectopische expressie van reeline veroorzaakt in vivo neuronale aggregatie. In de zich ontwikkelende neocortex (links) wordt reeline (rood) voornamelijk uitgescheiden door de Cajal Retzius-cellen in de marginale zone, waarin de migrerende neuronen hun leidende uitlopers richten naar de bron van reeline. De primitieve corticale zone is dicht bezet door neuronale cellichamen (grijs). Bij neuronale aggregatie geïnduceerd door ectopisch tot expressie gebrachte reeline (rechts), verzamelen de leidende uitlopers van de migrerende neuronen zich in het reeline-rijke centrale gebied, en zijn de cellichamen uitgelijnd in het PCZ-achtige perifere gebied (grijs). In beide gevallen vertonen de migrerende neuronen een “inside out” principe waarbij de laat geboren neuronen (groen) de vroeggeboren neuronen (magenta) passeren.
